About us

We build the trust layer between Indian farmland and corporate net zero

Karbon Kheti was founded on a simple observation: India has the largest smallholder farming base in the world and the least carbon finance reaching it. Fixing that requires measurement infrastructure, not goodwill.

Our mission

Verified credits that raise farmer income and stand up to audit

We connect Indian farmers with businesses by creating verified agricultural carbon credits that improve farmer income while helping companies achieve their sustainability and net-zero goals. Every project starts in a district we can drive to, with soil we have sampled and farmers we have met.

How we operate

Four principles that decide what we will and won't sell

Measurement before marketing

We publish our methodology deductions and uncertainty ranges. If a tonne cannot be defended, it does not get issued.

Farmers are partners, not suppliers

Payout terms are explained in the local language, contracts are short, and revenue share is fixed before enrolment.

Built for enterprise reporting

Everything we produce is shaped by what an assurance provider, an auditor or a board committee will ask next.

Long horizon, local roots

Permanence needs decade-scale relationships in the same districts, not one-season procurement sweeps.

Where we work

Deep district coverage across six states

Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat — chosen for residue burning intensity, irrigation profiles and FPO density.
